Current Members:
Graduate
Student:
John Stanton-Geddes (co-advised with Ruth Shaw)
John is currently developing his
research investigating the relative roles of biotic and abiotic
factors in local adaptation, the ecological forces that affect the fate of
migrants, and how ecological niches may change with species range shifts.
Post-doc:
Maurine
Neiman Maurine is primarily interested in the evolution of
sex. She is spending a year in my lab, however, investigating the molecular
evolution and population genetics of protease inhibitor genes in Poplar. She
will be starting as an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa this
summer.
Former
Post docs:
Jennifer Lau collaborated on research investigating
potential evolutionary impacts of increasing concentrations of atmospheric CO2
concentrations. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Plant Biology
at Kellogg Biological Station and Michigan State University.
David
Moeller collaborated
on research investigating the molecular evolution of plant immunity genes and
characterizing the population structure of teosinte (Zea mays ssp. parviglumis)
and continue to work together on research
investigating the ecological and evolutionary limits of species range
expansion. Dave is currently an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Genetics
and University of Georgia.
Former Graduate Students:
Katy Heath currently Post-doctoral Researcher
at University of Toronto, working with John Stinchcombe
Dissertation: Dynamic Coevolution
and the Maintenance of Cooperation in Medicago truncatula - Sinorhizobium
Mutualism
Laurie Stone Masters student
co-advised with Ruth Shaw
Thesis: CO2, N, and Biodiversity Effects on Phenotypic Selection and Demography of
Native Grassland Perennials
