Transfer student orientation
Transfer student orientation is a one-day program designed to help students make a smooth transition to the University of Minnesota. Orientation is required for all students transferring to the College of Biological Sciences (CBS) from other institutions.
How does it work?
Transfer students have two orientation options:
- Complete the CBS portion of online orientation and attend a full day session on campus.
- Complete the CBS and university-wide online orientations and attend a half day orientation session on campus.
You can find more information about these orientation options on the Orientation and First Year Programs (OFYP) Web site.
During the required on-campus orientation you will:
- Find out how your courses transfer to the University and to your degree program
- Meet with a CBS adviser
- Register for spring 2010 classes
There are 2 sessions offered for spring semester 2010 orientation. Space is limited and sessions fill on a first-come, first-served basis. NOTE: You will not be able to sign up for an on-campus orientation session until you complete the required online orientation.
- Session 1: January 8, 2010
- Session 2: January 12, 2010
NOTE: You will not be able to sign up for the on-campus orientation session until you complete the required online orientation.
