About the undergraduate program
The plant biology major prepares students for a variety of career paths including research, education, biotechnology and environmental policy. As a plant biology major, you will have the opportunity to take courses in plant structure, function, development, classification, evolution and more.
The University of Minnesota is one of the top institutions for plant research and most of plant biology majors cite their research experiences as the most important component of their education. Plant biology majors are highly qualified and prepared for graduate school and this is the most common path for our graduates on their way to careers in academia, government or the private sector.
