Undergraduate Program
Plant biologists study such varied topics as the structure, function, development,
classification, evolution, worldwide distribution, and importance of plants
ranging from algae and fungi to flowering plants; the molecular basis of plant
evolution and development; the mechanisms through which plants convert light
into chemical energy; the use of plants in the interpretation of the history
and prehistory of the world; and the impact of plants on human civilizations.
