Research Interests

Our laboratory focuses on the study of nitrogen cycling in wetlands; ecoystem studies; ecophysiology and anatomy of higher plants; and vegetation management. Current projects include studying the use of grasses to control erosion in Minnesota; nitrogen cycling in coastal lagoons and dry forests of Brazil; nitrogen cycling in a bog in northern Minnesota; and the population dynamics of wild rice in and near Lake Itasca.
