Tuition, Fees, and Other Costs

Tuition

Tuition and fees are payable to the University by the due date indicated on the fee statement you receive via email. An additional charge is assessed for both late registration and late payment. Tuition is assessed on a per-credit basis relating to the student’s status during the summer. Academic year students registered at the University during the previous year and with resident status will be charged a per-credit rate of $350.76. Visiting, summer-only, non-degree seeking, or adult special students will also be charged tuition at the per-credit rate of $350.76, regardless of resident status. Non-resident students enrolled in a degree program at the University of Minnesota will be charged a per-credit rate of $798.07.

Graduate Students registering through the Graduate School pay graduate tuition rates.

University Fee

The University fee is assessed to all part-time and full-time students at a rate of $60.00 credit for students taking 1–9 credits.

Special Fees

All students pay a lab and recreation fee of $95.50 per course.

Housing and Meals

Room and board fees are comparable to the costs of living in a residence hall on campus. These costs are payable in full when you check in at Itasca at the beginning of the summer session on May 26, 2010:

Summer 2010 rates to be announced in February 2010. 2009 rates were as follows:
3-week course (Telemetry) = $735.75
4-week course (Entomology, Photography) = $981.00
5-week course (Ornithology, Mammalogy, Animal Behavior, Ecology) = $1226.25

Book Cost Estimate

Following are the courses with required textbooks and their approximate cost. Courses not listed have no required texts. The bookstore makes an effort to obtain used copies whenever possible, but they are not always able to offer used copies.
