The Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories rents cabins for both instructional and recreational purposes. Sixteen bunk-style cabins are available, each accommodating six to eight students. Many of these cabins have toilets and sinks; showers and laundry facilities are located in two central bathhouses. There are no cooking facilities in these cabins, so occupants must eat in the dining hall. Student cabins are not available to rent from mid-October through early May.

Eighteen faculty housekeeping cabins are available May through September. Eight of these are open throughout the year. Housekeeping cabins are modern with full kitchens and bathrooms, dishes, cookware, microwaves, refrigerators and coffeemakers.

Current University of Minnesota faculty, staff and students are eligible to rent cabins for recreational use at the Itasca Station, provided space is available. Please note that cabins are not available for recreational use during the summer season when courses are in session (approximately mid-May through mid-September).
