Printing images on the Fuji Pictrography 3000 photographic-quality printer

  1. Open Photoshop by double-clicking on the desktop icon.

  2. File → Open

Under the File menu, select ?Open? and then locate and open the file you wish to print.

  3. Image → Image Size → Resolution: 267, 320 or 400

Under the Image menu, select Image size and then set the Resolution to either 267, 320 or 400 pixels per inch. 320 or 400 ppi are comparable, while some loss-of-quality may be noticeable at 267 ppi. See Figure 1.
  4. Image → Image Size → Document Size

In the same options menu used to adjust the Resolution, set the Document Size. Make sure that both selectors to the right of the input areas are set to inches. Then set either the height or the width to be less than or equal to a width of 8.25? and a height of 10.75? if you wish to print on full-size paper. The document must be less than or equal to a width of 8.25? and a height of 5.37? to print on half-size paper. The ?Constrain Proportions? selection will automatically adjust one dimension proportionally when the other dimension is changed.

  5. Image → Mode → RGB Color

Under the Image menu, select Mode and then verify that the image is set to RGB Color.

  6. File → Export → PG 3000

Under the File menu, select Export and then the PG 3000 option.

  7. On the export options screen, Figure 2, check first that the printing option for Resolution matches the resolution (267, 320, or 400 ppi) that you selected earlier. Then select whether you wish to print to a Paper Size of Full or Half, enter the number of prints you wish to make, and then click on ?Print.?
  8. You must let the entire file be exported to the printer before you do anything else with the computer. Your prints must be out before you can attempt to print anything else to the Fuji 3000. When the green data light stops blinking on the Fuji 3000 you can close your document on the computer and begin preparing another image.
