Converting files to EPS for printing on the Fuji Pictrography 3000

Note: You must use PhotoShop to print to the Pictography 3000, if your files are in a format that PhotoShop can not open, they need to be converted to a readable EPS file following these instructions.

We recommend using an Imaging Center computer because your computer may not have the necessary drivers to complete this process.

  1. Apple menu → Chooser → Laserwriter 8

On an Apple computer, under the Apple Menu, select the Chooser, then click on the Laserwriter 8 icon in the upper left hand part of that menu. Close the Chooser.

  2. Open the file you wish to print in the application that it was originally created in.

  3. File → Print

Under the File menu, select Print.

  4. Make the following changes to the options in the Print menu
    1. Destination: File

    2. Save as File →
      1. Format: EPS Mac Standard Preview
      2. Postscript Level: Level 1 Compatible
      3. Data Format: ASCII
      4. Font Inclusion: All
    3. General →

You can only ?print? one page at a time. If it is a multi-page document, under the General menu select Pages: From: and then enter 1 To: 1. You will need to repeat this process for each page you wish to convert. (e.g. From: 2 To: 2, etc.)
    4. If your file is a Powerpoint presentation, continue with the next step. Otherwise, skip to Step F.

    5. Microsoft Powerpoint →

      Uncheck Black and White
    6. Click on the Save button.

Name your file and, if you wish to print the document immediately, save it to our Transfer space: Transfer → Fuji Picto Transfer
    7. If you don't plan to print the document immediately, please save it to your own disk or server space to save clutter on our server space.
