Moving Files From BioRad 1024 Confocal Computer to Transfer Space

  1. In the Launcher toolbar, click on the DRIVES icon

  2. Double-click on FTP-PM

  3. Enter Information into the window:
    • Host: 160.94.39.27
    • User: transfer
    • Pass: transfer
    • Account: leave blank

  1. You'll see a window split in half. On the bottom half, you'll see the Remote Host current directory: Double-click on Transfer and then search through the list and click on the transfer folder you want to move your date into (i.e. /Transfer/myfolder)

  2. Up top, locate your file folder and select the files individually in the left window or the entire folder in the right window of the Local Host
For example: "D:\tracy\images", where you have files on the "D:" drive, "tracy" is your Lasersharp username and the files are stored in the images directory. Or "D:\tracy\" where you have files on the "D:" drive, tracy is your Lasersharp username and then click on images for the entire folder.

  3. In the menu bar at the top of the FTP-PM window, under "Options", select Transfer mode and choose Binary (rather than ASCII).

  4. Again under "options", select Confirmation, turn it off

  5. Click on Quick Transfer in the upper menu

The files will begin to transfer immediately. When completed, the files can be accessed from any of the Imaging Center computers. Any questions, ask Mark Sanders or Tracy Anderson.
