The Twin Cities and Housing

Minneapolis and Saint Paul, the Twin Cities

Minneapolis, the largest city in Minnesota, and Saint Paul, the state's capital, are the centers of a large metropolitan area with a population of 2.7 million along the Mississippi River. They are home to diverse cultural and outdoor activities year-round. The Twin Cities metropolitan area is unique in offering big city advantages in a beautiful natural setting: 360 miles of off-road paved bike trails, numerous parks for cross-country skiing, over twenty lakes for swimming, canoeing, sailing, ice-skating, and other year-round water activities, theater performances, movies, concerts from classical music to jazz, art mueums, sport arenas, zoos, regional parks, and the Fort Snelling State Park with extensive hiking, biking and skiing trails, all within the cities' limits.
