Primary committees
Member Engagement Comittee
The Member Engagement Comittee plans activities that provide opportunities for members to connect and build community.
Examples include:
- Science Museum of Minnesota private reception and exhibit tour
- BioBook Club
Build the Future Committee
The Build the Future Committee encourages current students to join BSAS after graduation by planning activities that involve alumni and students.
Examples include:
- Biology House dinner
- BioCommons
- BioBound 2010: Speed Networking Event
- CBS Annual Picnic
Make a Difference Committee
The Make a Difference Committee plans projects that support the success of students and the College of Biological Sciences.
Examples include:
- Fundraising for scholarships, including the BSAS scholarship
- Fundraising to support student travel to meetings
- Volunteer support of college initiatives
Subcommittees
Mentor Program
The Mentor Program Subcommittee recruits and matches mentors and mentees. Committee members are encouraged to be mentors themselves.
Social Media
The Social Media Subcommittee, along with a staff member, maintains and updates CBS social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
