The Mission of the Biochemistry club at the University of Minnesota is to improve the educational experience, provide career advancement tools and specialized leadership training opportunities for majors in the discipline with the goal of enabling students to more effectively reach their career objectives. To that end, the Biochemistry Club facilitates the development of study groups and tutorials, provides opportunities for corporate partners and students to meet and explore career development, engages in learning sessions for graduate and professional school applications, and provides students with an opportunity to organize and manage the Club with staff and faculty support.
Biochemistry Club Activities
1) Relay for Life team
If we form a team by the 22nd of this month, the team members registered will receive a 50% discount. The team needs a minimum of 8 people, so if any of you are interested, please respond as soon as you can to this email. (biocclub@umn.edu) After we have set the team up, we will email those of you who showed interest with more information so you can get yourselves registered. The registration fee per team member is $10.
2) Feed My Starving Children
We have done some research on times available to head out to one of the Feed My Starving Children locations and spend some time helping out. It looks like what is going to work best is Tuesday, December 8th from 8:00-9:30 pm in Coon Rapids. In order to actually sign up for this time slot, however, we need to make sure we have at least 10 people committed to going with us. We have two people who have already volunteered to drive and they will be able to bring four additional people in each of their vehicles. If you will be able to join us, please RSVP to this email by Friday, November 20th. (biocclub@umn.edu)
