Course Information

Course Description: an introduction to principles of nutrition; selected topics from the broad multidisciplinary field of nutrition will be used to introduce key basic concepts and illustrate importance in medicine.

Course Objectives:

1.   Introduce the basic principles of nutrition and the critical relationship between nutrition and health.

2.   Describe and discuss the current thinking and questions on selected nutritional issues which have a strong influence on health and disease.

3.   Emphasize the relationship between nutrition and biochemistry/metabolism.
