Course Information

Theory and practice of modern biochemical techniques including buffers and pH, protein (lactate dehydrogenase) purification, protein electrophoresis, enzyme characterization using kinetics and immunochemical methods, recombinant DNA techniques.

Course Goals: Laboratory experience in protein purification and characterization and modern molecular biology techniques; recognition of how biochemical methods impact modern life.

Topics: Buffers and pH, protein (lactate dehydrogenase) purification, protein electrophoresis, enzyme characterization using kinetics and immunochemical methods, recombinant DNA techniques.
